Matt's Story
Life
Born 1972 in LaCrosse, and adopted by the best parents ever. I have one sister, Cindy, 2 years older than me. She and I get along well, now that we are past my junior high years.
1972-1981 is mostly a blur. (Driving my babysitters crazy by being hyperactive, and going to school).
1981 moved to Sun Prairie, from Ripon, WI, and attended C.H. Bird.
Graduated SPHS in 1990.
Went on to Platteville for one semester and I thought, "Get me out of here."
Went on to MATC for a Liberal Studies Associates degree.
Went to UW-Whitewater, majoring and minoring in Commuciative Disorders, with emphasis in Audiology.
Took one year off from school, working at the American Red Cross in Madison, as a blood collections clerk.
Was offered a Graduate Assistantship at University of Southern Mississippi, in Hattiesburg, in the Clinical Audiology Master's Degree program.
Now practicing Audiology at the VA Medical Center, in Biloxi, MS.
Bought a house, on my Birthday, in 2000.

Met a great woman last May, and have been with her ever since.
I'd say my personality has changed since my school days. I'm more outgoing these days, and less shy than before, with greater determination.
My current hobbies include: Muskie fishing (when back home), target shooting/gun collecting, bulding model race boats, listening to music/playing drums.
Future goals: Obtain clinical Docorate degree in Audiology. Pay-off my "professional student" debts.
Workplace
I began at the VA Medical center as a Masters Degree Clinician-trainee in summer of 1999.
Was hired as regular staff at the end of the traineeship, and have been there ever since.
Just celebrated my 3 year anniversary, and am vested in the system.
I take a leadership role when I can there, and get involved in special VA programs.
Evaluating patients for hearing disorders and fitting hearing aids is a fun job. Its very rewarding to help people out with their hearing handicaps.
I hope to provide many more years of service to the veteran population.
