Matthew Berger:  

Life After completing my BA in Political Science from Yale in 1988, I spent a year working in DC. I began a PhD in Government at Harvard in 1989--and abandoned same (with a Master's) in 1995. After a year of "now what do I do?", I began working as a data analyst at a Boston non-profit called Health and Addictions Research. I worked at similar health-data-oriented positions through the end of 2000. I moved back to Philadelphia in February 2001. In June 2001, I began to work at the Family Planning Council, becoming a Research Project Manager within a year. I thrived in my four years there, giving a series of well-received presentations and writing my first journal article; I also made an extended family of my salt-of-the-earth co-workers.
