Matthew's Story

Life Hey All, It's Matthew Brooks, aka bushman, grapes..., bookworm. I am having a ball with life now. I went through many things over the last ten years, but I am glad to say the Thersa (graff) and I are doing wonderful. We had our first son (Jacob Matthew) on March 28, 2003. We were married on August 17, 1996. And life has been treating us well. Some of you I have seen over the years especially since I have worked at Meijer in Southgate for over two years. I have seen many of your parents as well. We still hang out with Tricia (Grace) & Eric Ludtke (who also had their first daughter (my goddaughter Samantha Jean). My god its been awhile since I updated this bio. Let's see Tricia and Eric have had there second baby now...Aidan. He's such an adorable lil guy. I miss seeing everyone, and the reunion was awesome. Got some great pics and was so happy to see so many of you. I hope life is treating everyone Well. Jacob is now 20 months old and we have had a great couple of months with the lil guy. He dressed as Peter Pan for Halloween and had a blast!!!!! Hope to hear from you all soon!!!! And I hear from a lil birdie that our Girl Amber is expecting YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally! School God I miss the days when we were young and all thought that we could do anything. We all wanted things out of life but we truly afraid to go after them then. Look at me I started out with many of you at Gerisch (aauugghh, what a dreadful thought). I knew then what I wanted (Thersa, tehehe), but did I go after it, nnnooooo!!! It took years for me to work up the nerve (with some coaxing from her) to even ask her out. That's okay I met most of you including Thersa on October 17, 1989, my first day in Gerisch, and I finally got my first dance with Thersa on October 17, 1993, four years to the day I fell in love with her. I remember alot from high school from band camp to disney (bushman) to senior citizen dances, to football games. I even remember the perfume bomb from april fools day with Grace'...Expand for more
s big lip print on it (never let her forget it either). I remember fighting to be an escort for Prom Queen and all the controversy, oh my god it was pre-Bush(man) and we had a recount then...who'd have thought. Thanks for making it last forever guys!!! Workplace After high school I had a short but sweet stint in the army. I was given a discharge for preexisting conditions, both a bleeding ulcer and depression. I came home and started working at Office max in Southgate. I worked there from July 94 to November 94. In November of 94 I started working at Sears in Lincoln Park in the electronics and Computer area (who'd of thought I would be doing something with computers :). I stayed at Sears for two years and continued to work there while working at Waldenbooks in Southgate in August of 1996 (just after Thersa & I got married, incidentally Thersa also worked for Waldenbooks). I left Sears in November when I was offered an assistant management position. Thersa was moved to another store and I slowly moved up in the company. Each time I moved up it caused a little turmoil in our household since the company always seemed to place in the store that Thersa was in. I was with the company for five years and decided that Thersa and I needed something else to talk about at home other than books, books, books. I left the company and applied at Meijer in Southgate. After several interviews I was hired in as a "cashier", starting my new position on of all days, September 11, 2001. I almost didn't go in that day but I had to push on like I'm sure many of you did. I know I changed a little that day. Cashiering lasted just about 6 weeks before they called me in to interview for a management position and I have just moved up again in January to have several departments and working midnights. Life has been good and fair to me! Lately its been crazy around here getting ready for XMas-----oh my god, looks like world war three in this store.....I hope everyone has a great christmas. I miss you all since the reunion.
