In 1980 I was provided the opportunity to perform 5 missions to Antartica in support of the National Science Foundation. In 1981, I attended USAF Pilot training and served as an Aircraft Commander (Like an Airline Captain) on the C-141 flying trips throughout Europe, Middle- East, and Africa. One of my most memorable trips was as Commander of one of the flights transporting members of the 101st Airborne from Egypt after the December 1985 Crash of an Arrow Air flight in Gander Newfoundland killed over 200 ...Expand for more
of their members. After this accident, the 101st requested military transport, and I was one of the crews tasked with providing the support. . I also was privileged to fly members of the Wisconsin National Guard from an Island Air Base in the Atlantic (Lajes AB), to Ramstein AB, Germany. Fun times. In 1997 I retired form the USAF as a Lt Col and joined the Airline Industry as a Data analyst and Safety Manager. I spent 9 years at Delta Airlines, 2 years with a start-up cargo carrier in Seattle, Washing ton, and 10 years with Alaska Airlines also in Seattle. In 2018, my wife and I moved to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to our grandchildren. I am married with three wonderful children., two girls and a boy.
