Matthew's Story
Life
I been living in the Atlanta metro area for the past 12 years (wow - doesn't seem that long) and love it here (don't worry, I haven't picked up the southern accent y'all). I got married in August 1999. My wife's name is Ilona. We had our first child (Caitlyn) in December, 2001. We love her dearly; but she's a handful. As of now, we're not planning on having any more children.
Workplace
My first job out of school was working for the Canada Dry Bottling Co. of NY as a District Sales Manager. I was not happy at all for various reasons; so I moved to Norwalk Ct. and began to work in a pseudo-marketing position for a company called MicroWarehouse (a computer-related mail order catalog). In 1996, I visited Atlanta and loved it so much that I left CT and relocated.

gramming and technical work. About a year ago, I got a real estate license. I was originally going to use it to facilitate the purchase of my own investment properties; but several deals fell in my lap and I ended up selling quite a bit in 2005 considering I was doing it in addition to a full time IT job. This year (2006), I have decided to take a huge risk and I have quit a job that I really liked to pursue the real estate business on a full time basis. The lure of satisfying my entrepreneurial spirit was too strong to resist. I realize it's an extremely competitive industry and with talk of a housing "bubble burst", it may not be a good time to get in. However, I feel that I owe it to myself to try. I'll either be successful and never look back or not be and have learned a great deal about myself and another industry which will still make me feel more accomplished than if I never tried.
