I obtained a life time teaching credential in 1974 in Natural Foods Cookery and taught at Community Colleges and in Adult Education. I parlayed my interest in cooking into a consultant job in new product development for General Foods in New York. I purchased a restaurant, The Gastgronome in Idyllwild, opened a Health Food Store and Juice, The Wee Farmer's Market, opened a bakery serving breakfast, lunch, dinner knows as Baker in The Forest and later a cafe known as Fern Valley Junction. Before and during this time I obtained two bachelor degrees, one in Psychology and one in Food Technology and a Masters in Food and Nutrition. I began working in real estate in 1974 in Idyllwild where I have lived for 40 years. I owned and operated Coldwell Banker Lily Rock Realty until 1994 and then closed the franchise in favor of Lily Rock Realty which I still own. I developed a 27 unit retail complex, known to the community as The Fort because it was the largest log structure built in the US and was totally green in 1992.
