Maureen's Story
Life
I was born in San Jose and still live there. Currently, while I am in school, I live in Santa Cruz with two of the men's soccer teamates and with a member of Sound Tribe Sector Nine. It if very amusing living with all guys but it is also fun all the time. They love my cookies, especially my snickerdoodles. On the weekends I go down to my parents future retirement home in Carmel where I always feel like I'm on vacation while hiking, going to yoga, relaxing on the white sandy beach, and enjoying the yummy restaurants of the area. YUM! I have a boyfriend of almost three years named Spencer. We met down at Marymount College and fortunatly he is from Palo Alto so we became instant communter friends driving from L.A. to S.J. all the time. He has tried to teach me to surf, but i'm soo weak and a wuss. For the time being I am just focusing on school and future traveling plans. I am going to Ireland in June and Liz D. and I are going to Europe for a month in September. Octoberfest..here we come WOOO!.
School
Archbishop Mitty was fun and sooo challenging at the same time. I had a hard time focusing on the academic part because I was too busy being silly with my friends going crazy after boys. (A very humiliating part of my life, but worth every minute)I think I enjoyed senior year the most because our class really got together and we became close especially all of us in LIFE Team. I ...Expand for more
have soo many good memories from Mitty and many of them have shaped me into the person I am today!.
College
Marymount College in Palos Verdes was kind of an unreal situation. First of all its in L.A. which I've grown to dislike and second it was filled with the most superficial, rich, up to no good, kids who didn't have anything else better to do with their parents money than go shopping and do crazy drugs all the time. L.A. is another planet and I think Southern California should be seperated from us in Northern California, but that's just me. I had fun living near the ghetto by L.A. harbor. We'd experience gang activity every so often and police helicopters would shine their lights on our housing. My second year was much better because Liz D. and I got an apartment in Redondo Beach. That was nice because we could walk everywhere and we were just four blocks from the beach. But in a nut shell, L.A. sucks.
Now I got to UCSC and I will be graduating in June of 2005 with a B.A. in American Studies and minor in Education. I will take a year off and then hopefully I will attend the masters/credential program that they have so I can become a teacher!
Workplace
I work part time at my dad's office. (he is a doc) I work in the records department scanning patient charts and filing BORINGGGG. I'm only doing it for the money. I also am a babysitter and I love it. And thats about it.
