Mauri Lynn's Story
Life after high school was a rocky ride throughout my twenties. What a mess! I ended up moving to Germany and had a lousy marriage for 5 years, then moved back home. I found the love of my life, Tim, and we now live in Colorado with our three beautiful children, Elizabeth (4), Jack (2), and Madeleine (3 months). We live up in the mountains and enjoy the remote atmosphere. Our neighbors are Elk, Black bear, wild turkeys, mountain lions, rattlesnakes, whitetail deer, and many other wonderful animals. Tim is a cowboy on this outfit, and the ranch is about 25,000 acres big. We live in a little rock house built in the early 20's and it has a wonderful charm. The hummingbirds come in droves to the feeder, sometimes numbering up in the twenties. I just finished up my associates degree and am currently attending the University of Colorado Denver and will be attending Oxford in September. I am working towards my bachelors in English writing and plan to write professionally. I will be 39 this year, and tell my husband that I will be fabulous at 40. Maybe not skinny, but fabulous! We love our horses, cats and fish. The houseplants need some attention though. I honestly don't remember much of my high school years....Expand for more
I was having so many family problems that I got lost in the mix. I never felt much like I fit in, and was hard pressed to make lasting friendships. Even as an adult, I have very few friends. I keep the numbers small and the quality great. My best friend is a woman who works in Kansas as a consultant to the library system. Her degree is in museum curation, but she really enjoys working for the library. We talk every so often, but see each other less, now that I live up in the mountains. We are at 7600 feet, but I don't really notice any difference. It is much cooler up here, which is very nice. I would love to hear from my old classmates. I wish I could have attended the reunion. I was actually in Fort Worth at the time, but logistically I couldn't make it. I hope that more people will contribute to this website so that we can all keep in touch. Good luck to all of you and God bless,
Lynn
I don't have much time to relax these days. Being a full time student and mother of 3 (well 4 depending on how you look at it) keeps me on my toes. Plus I also work! If I had to pick my favorite way to relax, it would probably be taking the kids over to the river to sit and watch them play with the rocks and nature.
