Dr. McMillion accepted Christ and was called to the gospel ministry at the age of twelve, at the First Pilgrim Baptist Church Of New Orleans, La. It was under the leadership of Dr. Eugene Mitchell at this church that he also became licensed. After serving there for eight years Dr. McMillion was led to the First African Baptist Church of the 6th District, where he served under the spiritual leadership of Dr. Moses S. Gordon II. Dr. McMillion was educated in the New Orleans public and private school system. Because of Dr. McMillion Academic & Ministry Work the Board of Regents of Covenant Bible College & Theological Seminary awarded him an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree, and a earned Ph.D. in christian counseling from Heritage University and Seminary. Dr. McMillion is currently pursuing one more Doctoral degree with the Cornerstone Christian University in Religious Education. On August 25, 2005 Dr. McMillion home was destroyed by hurricane Katrina which caused him to relocate to Marshall, TX. Dr. McMillion then joined the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W. W. Cotton until his calling for pastorate at the Hughes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where he has been serving as Pastor for Five years. Under Pastor McMillion’s leadership this church has grown spiritually and financially. Pastor McMillion has organized various ministries for his Church and Community. Dr. McMillion belongs to and serves some of the most outstanding organizations, which are listed below. 1. Unity Missionary Baptist Association 2.
