Maurice's Story
Life
Maurice J. Sevigny left St. Joe's in his junior year and finished high school in Amesbury MA, follwed by attending Mass College of Art to gain certification as a teacher and art therapist. He is now a mixed media and digital artist who specializes in original works on paper. He has served as the dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Arizona since 1991 and holds studio art and graduate degrees from the Massachusetts College of Art, Harvard, and The Ohio State University. Harvard University and has studied and worked in Europe. Maurice has taught studio art and administered visual arts programs at Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green University, The University of Texas at Austin and the Roehampton Institute London. He married Shirley Randall Sevigny in 1966, has one son, Marc (in Blatimore) and a new grandson, Turner Joseph Sevigny. Maurice currently is the President of the International Coucil of Fine Arts deans and has travelled abroad extensively as a lecturer and consultant.
