Maxine's Story
After graduation,I married Jack Sylva,we have 3 daughters;Sue.49;Sharon,47;Sandy,46. We divorced after 51/2yrs.Then we moved to Long Beach,Ca.& Sharon & Sandy moved back to Paso & graduated from there.I remarried for 21/2 yrs.Guess I'm not suppose to be married. I lived in the LB area for l7yrs.My Mom developed Alshimers & went to live w/Sandy in N.C.in '96 & in '97 I moved out to help take care of her. She passed in'98,& since I like the weather here,except the hot,humid summers! No earthquakes!I decided to stay.I have 5 granddaughters & l grandson & 2 gr-grdaughters. I worked for MJ Soffe,a textile mfg.co.for 11 yrs.in the shipping dept.before they started down-sizing,& I was out the door.Drew unemployment from Apr.to Nov.Meaning I enjoyed the Summer w/no sweating in a hot warehouse!haha. Then I went to work p/t as a receptionist for our Salvation Army church during the Xmas season & after that, our thrift store. So I'm lovin life. I bought a dbl.wide mobil home on a l6acre pond in '01. So my dog,Bailey, an 80 lb.Golden Lab & I live here enjoyin' life!I LOVE to garden. I have rose bushes...Expand for more
,Forsythias,Day Lilies,Irises,& some I don't know what they are! I wish I still had my yr.books,then I could look a bunch of people,PLEASE when you take a pic.do a head shot! Faraways don't cut it! I am thrilled to hear from everyone. When she gets time,I'll have Briana take a pic.of me & post it along w/my dog! And maybe parts of the pond,house & yd.All for now. Update as of 2/26/12. Last yr. I decided to down-size my yd. so I dug up rose bushes & Iris's & gave to friends, getting too old to have a big yd. am looking for a cheap riding mower, 'cause my gardner (grandson, Gabe,) has gone off to college in SC. so he isn't around all the time. The family moved out to the boonies, about l3 mi. so they're not even close. Gr.daughter, Briana, will be going to college in Aug. in Va.! Biggest Christian University in the world!! I'm still working p/t, so life is still good. I got a list of classmates a few mo. ago, who are thought to be deceased! What a shock. Well, I think that up dates everything. It's a shame that we have to subscribe to classmates to find out who is where!!! God bless us all.
