Maxine's Story
The Magic Carpet Ride describes my two years at Meadowview. Do any of you gals remember the dance we did to the song? It pretty much describes the era we were in... Vietnam, Nixon, Berkley, Low Riders, VW Vans, and thumbing our way to the beach whenever we could. My Mom and Dad ownded the laundomat in the Vahn's Shopping Center. We lived on Castle Drive and my BF was Maryann Jorgenson (Gibson) who lived a block or so down the street. We'd whistle back and forth to each other until we got into our houses. Not because we had any fear, ...Expand for more
just because we liked to. And our giberish.... Dolafo youlafo relafemelafemberlafer thalafat? We moved to Iowa in 71 to be closer to family and I began a huge transition into small town life in Iowa. I've been blessed with three sons, 1 husband for 30+ years, and still live in Iowa. We are empy nesters these days and stay busy with work, family, my husbands band everyother weekend, horses when we can, and our 8 month old granson. Looking forward to finding out what everyone else is doing since those days on our Magic Carpet Ride:)
