Maxine's Story
After school I lived in New York City and was an aspiring actress and singer. I met many inspiring people and saw many inspiring performances. And gave a few myself! lol And I wouldn't trade those years for anything. But when I told my landlord that I was a very inspired person he wanted a rent check instead! ;-D. So I entered the "civilian" workforce. I worked at ad agencies and magazines in New York City. They were pretty interesting and fast moving jobs. I returned to New Jersey and it was nice to be home. But I realized there's a whole lot of difference once you cross that river. I worked in real estate and that was just fine till the world financial system crumbled. So I worked with older people for a while. I don't like to use the word "elderly". ...Expand for more
It seems to rob them of their humanity. And now I'm doing long term projects. The story continues - and to be continued...
I am still an avid play, dance, movie and concert goer. And I love watching comedians. The arts still play a very major part in my life. I also love to read. Right now I am reading Shakespeare - The Invention of the Human by Harold Bloom. That will take a while to polish off.
My nephew,who was always a big part of my life, is now married to a beautiful Czech woman and has two children - one year and three years old. I speak to them almost weekly and we do web-cam sessions.
I have found some old school chums quite by accident and re-kindled some old friendships. This was a nice surprise. Maybe I'll find more. It ain't over till it's over.
