Mechel's Story
Life
I spent my early school yrs at N.B. Elementary and N.B.Jr. High. While I was attending Madison High School my most memorible friends were Gill Williams, Milton Davis, Tammy Stoller, Renee Vinette, Gary Daniels and Ronnie Cummins.
All was great until my Senior Year when my parents split up. I quit school and packed up and went off to live with some friends in Lebanon Tn. I stayed with them for about six months and then flew off to stay with my grandpartents in a little place called Deer River Minnisota. Deer River is located on an Indian Reservation in the middle of a hole in nowhere land. There I rode horses and walked the long dirt roads day after day until I got my head straight. I talked some since into myself and decided to take a GED test and make something respectable out of myself.
After I got tired of wandering around the wilderness I packed my bags and went back to live with my dad. I took the GED and passed, but the respectable person thing did not happen yet, well you see, I still had a lot of oats to sew.
I became a Bartender in a bar located in downtown Lebanon. At that time Lebanon was a dry county and people had to bring there on bottles of alcohol. I would mark the bottle with there names and charge them a set up fee for a mixed drink. Isnt that crazy, charge them for their on alcohol. Needless to say this was not a good atmosphere for me and before long I was caught up in the old game of drinking, smoking, and living with a never ending hangover. I am surprised that I lived through that crazy time of my life. This was not the life for the rich and famous, it was the life of the crazy and senseless. Oh well, I think you have the picture.
After about two years of bartending in that little red neck part of town, I packed my bags again and moved to Nashville. There I worked at a bigger, more respectable bar The Jack Daniels bar and Grill locate...Expand for more
d in the Opryland Hotel. Here you would be kicked out if you brought your on alcohol in. I worked here for a long while or at least until I got mixed up with the wrong crowd and got accused of selling cocaine to my fellow employees. I dont know how anyone could ever get the idea that I would be involved in such an unspeakable criminal act.
Well I bet your saying to yourself, Gee she sure turned out all wrong. Well, NOT! Yes I was a very wild one and scared my poor mom and dad to death more than 100 times. But I did finally turn out respectable. I have my kids to thank for that. Because its a whole different story when you find out that your carrying a tiny helpless little life inside of you and it depends on you and your actions for its existence now and forever more. I may have been able to hurt myself time and time again, but never another being.
Boom! Easy as that I quit it all. Drinking, smoking and etc. And guess what, miracles do happen, I still had enough brains left to start and finish college. I bet I could have been a rocket scientist if I hadnt wasted away most of my brain cells. I even went to college and got my Bachelors in Science and my masters in information systems. I have been working for the last 15 years in a lab as a Medical Technoligist. I am currently expanding my career by applying for a Clinical Engineer position with Beckman and Coulter. I will update you when I find out the outcome of my interviews.
My favorite accomplishment is my children. I have three of the brightest most beautiful children in the world. My oldest daughter, Desiree is a Senator for the Student Government at a Community College here in Alabama and plans to start at Auburn University next fall. My youngest daughter is a Genius and My son is a athletic god. They all laugh about my past and do not believe it ever happened. We are all great friends and love our lives very much.
