After graduating high school in 2003, I moved to Alexandria Minnesota to attend college. I entered the Army Reserves in 2005 and due to an injury was discharged in 2006. When I came home, I moved to Waterloo Iowa where I went through some ups and downs adjusting to civilian life again. In 2010, I met my daughter's father and we had an amazing connection. My daughter was born October 18th of 2011 and that following year in August my daughter and I flew out to California to visit my grandmother. My daughter is named after her and it was the last time that I saw her before she passed. I'm so happy that my daughter had the opportunity to meet her and that's my grandmother had a chance to meet her namesake. My daughter's father and I were planning to be married in 2016 but due to some circumstances that were out of our control we postponed it. In 2018 he left me for his true love/ soulmate to try and see if things would work with her. After months of not thinking I was going to survive that situation I finally pulled myself up and out of the dark hole that I was living in and forgave him and her for the wrongs that have been done to me personally and to the family that him and I were creating. My daughter has had the best of both worlds as far as parenting goes for her parents were together and we concentrated on her and even though we are no longer together we co-parent very well. Every activity that she's involved in every school conference we both put aside any of our differences with each other and make sure that we are a united front for our daughter. We do events and fairs and shows and everything together as a family unit even though him and I are no longer a couple.
