After leaving Chaparral, I went to UNLV. In 1980, I moved to New York City. I lived there for one year. It was exciting;.; like living in the movies. I was fortunate to attend a few Broadway shows, a ballet, outdoor concerts in Central Park, and many other forms of entertainment. The greatest experiences I had were to be introduced to many different cultures. This is where I gathered my passion for Middle Eastern food, music and culture. I experienced the sense of family these people shared, and received a different view of how most Americans view people of different ethnic backgrounds. I returned to Las Vegas because I missed my family. My family still resides here. Many of you remember my two sisters--Cindy and Lisa. We were the Beck Sisters.
