Melanie's Story
Life
Zachary is my nine year old son, a spoiled only child. He plays baseball, football, basketball and races a Kawasaki 65cc ArenaX and MotoX. He has a few trophies and won first in series when we were still racing his Honda 50cc. Last nine weeks he made High Honor Roll at Manchester Academy, in Yazoo City (the home of Jerry Clower and Willie Morris).
My husband is a fan of NASCAR but missed his first Talledega in six years Because I was in Hilton Head With my mom and Bro David. We watched the race on TV, now I have to let him go to Daytona!
As for me I'm your typical housewife, happily married most days of the week. I sing in the church choir, I'm homeroom mom and I am the fund raising chairman and social liason for MAPPTA (Manchester Academy Positive Parent Teacher Association). I drive a Suburban and live in a 2,400 sq foot house that are both proudly owned by the bank! I'm a fan of Dave Ramsey, I don't have many credit cards, and I hope to find my financial peace someday very, very soon.
My Dad died Nov 2003 on Clingman's Dome in The Great Smoky Mt National Park. Always some drama!
Jimmy, my older bro, lives in Colorado now and is a ski-bunny.
Workplace
Michael and I own 2 businesses. Together we started a HVAC bus in 1995. Along came Zachary in 1996. We still operate our business in his spare time. He works from 8-4 at the Federal Prison here in Yazoo. Southern A...Expand for more
ir-Care remodels grocery stores (refrigeration: freezers, cases, walk-ins) Installs complete commercial and residential Heating Cooling And Ventillation systems and of course maintenance and repair. I am the receptionist and bookkeeper. And I have my Mechanical Contractors License.
I have a gymnastics-cheer business that is almost 5 years old. It's still an infant but this year we start competing All-star which I am very excited about. All those girls make up for the fact that I am not capable of making it past the first tri-mester! Maybe you'll see me on ESPN soon!?
Update 9-08
After two knee surgeries I am no longer coaching! I have a garage full of tumbling mats.
This is Zach's first year in Jr High! It's all about the football! Last night he made a tackle heard 'round the world! 'Course he also has someone's cleat imprint on his inner thigh!
I spent this summer teaching at the Boys & Girls Club of the Ms Delta.
Life is at somewhat of a standstill and I want to go back to school but money is tight when you are not gainfully employed.
But hey, my man takes good care of me.
My marriage is still mostly great.
Life is a rerun most weeks with school, church, Zach's activities, prayer meeting, choir practice, school activities, homework, youth activities, It seems mundane when I write it down; but there is comfort in structure, and I love my friends , family and my life!
