Melanie's Story
My Life Now:
retired and working part time for my oldest daughter who is the most amazing woman ever! She has such a big and loving heart. My two younger daughters have faced severe health issues recently so I am on extended stay in Denver CO to be near them and help when I can. I love to cook for a family again.
Went on a cruise to Mexico again recently with my oldest sister, Mary Kay Kidd. It was wonderful, but you have to bring your own bottled water!!
I love to travel, especially in the Rocky Mountains. A day in the mountains exhilarates my spirit! I can't wait to go to Washington state and see the area around Mt. Rainier and Gig Harbor. My daughter and her family rave about the beauty...they backed it up with glorious pictures.
My Life Before
After graduation from Flagstaff HS,took until 1981 to finish college. I finally got a M.A. in 1986 at New Mexico S...Expand for more
tate University in Las Cruces NM and have traveled all over the US and parts of Europe, Hawaii, Costa Rica and South America.
I taught Special Education for 25 years...I wanted to retire to someplace warm [who doesn't] and bought a condo in Laughlin NV thinking that would be the place. My two youngest daughters live in Colorado, my oldest in Houston....I have 6 grandchildren.
My biggest regret? I did not get to live in Hawaii ! and I did not get to stay in Europe long enough....both such great places for different reasons.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 50% of it to the Fed (they would take it anyway), then spend the rest on my sisters and brother, my daughters and their families and 10% for God, and the rest on travel and the Dude Ranch my daughter wants for abandoned women and children.
What would surprise everyone at my HS reunion? That I am now 9'8" tall?
