Melanie's Story
Life
I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but...
Steve and I were married 25 years in 2005. We have three grown sons, Jonathan, Justin and Taylor. After a period of adjustment we have been enjoying the empty nest. Steve keeps busy with work and taking care of his Grandma and parents.
I'm involved in women's ministry and music ministry at Calvary Chapel in Fallbrook, where we've lived since 1988.
I went back to school in 1990 and got my bachelors in Accounting in 1995 and my MBA in 1996. I've been teaching part time at Cal State San Marcos (in North San Diego County) ever since. Steve has been with Southern California Edison for 23 years, in operations at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. He is currently a Control Room Supervisor.
About the boys: Jonathan and Taylor both live in Long Beach. Taylor graduated from Cal State Long Beach in Spring 2007 with a single subject teaching credential (Social Sciences.) We have hope that Jonathan w...Expand for more
ill be finishing soon CSULB soon with a degree in Music (Vocal Performance). Both are working full time in the Long Beach area. Justin attends law school at Rutgers in Camden, New Jersey.
For those of you who remember my mom, Adorae (taught elementary grades at Liberty for almost 30 years, mostly kindergarten): Mom was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer in February, 2007. She had surgery to remove the tumor a week later, and has been undergoing chemotherapy since then. The first course of chemo they tried was very hard on her. We honestly thought she would not survive it, and for a while she didn't really care if she did or not. They changed the combination of drugs and found something she could tolerate. Her last CT scan showed NO CANCER! Our God is awesome. She is finishing up one last round of treatment to make sure she is cancer free. We are so thankful, and pray that the cancer will not come back.
I would love to hear from any of you.
