Melanie's Story
Life
After graduation, I went on to college at Western Career College in Sacramento studying Animal Health Technology. I then spent the next 18 years as an Animal Health Tech at various hospitals in Rancho Cordova, Fair Oaks and then in WA state when I moved north in 1996. In 1999 I 'retired' from vet medicine to pursue other interests, and worked for a couple of years for a medical doctor, doing reception and transcription work. I worked in insurance for 8 years and I went back to school and got my AAS in Medical Assisting and practiced in several medical offices for 11 years. I'm now a homemaker, we are raising our granddaughter (born 2020) since birth so starting all over again with babies, children and toys all over. We always have pets in the house, both cats and dogs, and in the past guinea pigs.

College
My college was only a one year program-so I didn't get to know too many classmates well enough to keep in touch-anyhow, I majored in Animal Health Technology and worked in the field as an Animal Health Technician for over 18 years! I still love my own animals but I "retired" from the business in 1999. in 2009 I returned to college, Whatcom Community College, earning an AAS in Medical Assisting in 2011.
