Melissa's Story
After high school I worked my way up the retail ladder at JCPenneys. While there I met and married Patrick. We have 3 kids - Wil is 19, Katye is 18 , and Jonathan is 14. I left JCP as a merchandise manager after Jonathan was born. In 1995, we moved to Mt. Washington to be closer to Pat's job at the KY Truck Plant.
In 1997, I began working as a kindergarten instructional assistant. I returned to college and earned my BS in elementary education in 2003. I began working as a teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary. I returned to school for my Master's in curriculum & instruction and finished in April 2008. I was at PGE until this past summer when I was selected as one of the county's instruc...Expand for more

Wil & Katye have graduated from high school and are attending JCC and working. It's really scary to think they're old enough to make me a grandma! YIKES! Jonathan is a Freshman at Bullitt East.
The past 20-something years have generally been good but we've have trying times. We've been through our home being damaged by a tornado, our daughter having 2 major surgeries, and the loss of his dad & my mom. After all this time, Pat & I are still very happy together. We will celebrate 22 years in February '09.
