Melissa's Story
In high school I was a member of the choir for all 4 years along with many other clubs such as SADD, FTA, Youth to Youth, and Teens Who Care to name a few. I was a strong shoulder to cry on and the person that everyone talked to when they had a problem. Well now that's not quite the same. I am the one who is looking for someone to listen to me. I lost my father when I was 13 and thought that was the hardest thing I would ever go through. Boy was I wrong. My mom and I became extremely close after I had my daughter and I lost her in 2002 and that was the worst thing ever for me.
But before I get too far let me catch you up on some other thigns. I married 2 months after graduation to who I thought I wanted to be with for the rest of my life. About 2 years later I learned different. I left him and thought I go on with out him. Then our paths crossed a short time after that again and I gave him a second chance. nt on with my life. I had just turned 21 and was ready to live my life. I started working in different bars and had a wonderful man and had my daughter just a 6 weeks before my 25th birthday. We were both in a position that neither one of us was ready for a relationship but have remained friends through all these years. I continued working and I met the love of my life when my daughter was 8 months old. Without even looking for love it fell into my lap. He was in the Army at the time and is 5 years younger than me. I never expected to find someone as wonderful as him and just figured I would never know true love in my life. I am so very happy to see that he was willing to prove me wrong on every aspect of that. We have been together ever since and I have never been happier. I have the ulitmate dream I thought I wasn't ever going to have. A happy family and true love.
We live in Shively now and are in the process of buying a trailer. We have 1 dog, 3 cats, 2 frogs, and are going to be getting our lizards back soon.
