Melissa's Story
I have reunited with my first boyfriend from Texas A&M, John Drury. It's as if the last 25 years just melted away. We are finding out what it is like to be in a really, really good relationship this time after our first marriages ended in divorce. Life is good!!!
Life
I'm learning more and more every day the plan God has for my life. I made the mistake in 1989 of marrying an unbeliever (a non-Christian) and lived through hell on earth for 15 years. IF I ever remarry, it will only be to a good Christian man. Life lessons learned...
I do have two wonderful children, though, from that marriage who I am pleased to say are born again Christians. My daughter is following in my footsteps, shooting for valedictorian of her own high school class. She wishes to be a stage actress but also has an amazing voice that I hope she will use for Christian music. She loves the theater and anything Japanese. My son is a very disciplined student (for a 12 year old boy) and enjoys participating in Chorus, Musical Theater, and Guitar. I also enjoy our three fur babies (cats; please spay or neuter your pets) and may add a dog again some day to our mix. We are living in Arizona (me now since 1992 when I came out here with my then husband) but I expect that we will move back to Texas no later than when my son graduates from high school. My children and I are very close and I expect that we will always live in close proximity to each other.
In this day and age, I cannot emphasize enough asking the question, "Are you saved?" God loves us and wants us to spend eternity with Him but we can't do so unless we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. I want to see al...Expand for more

School
My best memories of high school are about spending time with my best friends. I've been blessed to have many great friends in my life (you know who you are ;). If I had it to do all over again, I'd have partied more in high school and less in college, lol. Oh, and my favorite teachers were Mrs. Walker (orchestra) and Mr. Fly (economics). The band/orchestra trips to Washington, D.C. and to Scottsdale, AZ, were the best.
College
I started out at TAMU with a double major/double degree of Finance and Accounting. Although I am still intrigued by investment banking, I have since changed my majors to Accountancy and Computer Information Systems (again, two concurrent degrees). When I entered TAMU, I would have never thought I would end up loving to work with computers. I have finally found my niche and love every minute of it. Now my friends consider me a computer expert and turn to me for advice on computers. ~ proud to be a computer geek ~
Workplace
I was a stay-at-home mom for over nine years and I thoroughly enjoyed being there for my children while they were babies/toddlers. When I graduated from high school, my career was the most important thing to me. Marriage and kids, they were to come later, in my 30's. Thankfully, I've made decisions that have put my children first when they needed me the most. I'm ready to move on to the next phase of my life now where I can have a career and set a good example for my children. Career vs. SAHM: it's up to the individual and their values/goals in life. As long as the children are well cared for, a mother should be able to fulfill her personal goals as well.
