Melissa's Story
I got my Bachelor's degree in Journalism in 1988 from Stephen F. Austin State University. I worked for two newspapers, volunteered for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Campaign for State Treasurer in 1990 and was an editorial assistant for The Journals Newspaper in Pearland, Texas from 1991-1993.
I got married in 1992 ...Expand for more
and had my daughter Katie on October 3, 1993 and divorced and moved back to Cleburne.
Katie is 15 now and all of us (my parents too!) now live in DeSoto. I volunteer my time by reading, volunteering for Brighter Tomorrows (editing the newsletters for donors) and also volunteering some for Mental Health America.
