Melissa's Story
Life
I've been married to my sweetie (Mike) for 12 years and have two children (Nicholas, 10; and Michaela, 8). I'm employed by American Century Investments (in Kansas City on the plaza) as a communications consultant. And Mike works at General Motors (Fairfax plant).
Nicholas is active in Cub Scouts, gymnastics, baseball, Awana and Children's Choir; Michaela enjoys gymnastics, Awana and Children's Choir.
When I can find the time, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading, knitting, playing piano spending time with friends.
High School
Some of my favorite high school memories in Lawton include being a member of the Screamin' Eagle Band and Talon Staff, baton twirling, Tri-State Music Festival, band camp and just hangin' out with friends. Most of the people I was close to at EHS (Janet, Lori, Carolyn, Mark and Steve) had been friends since grade school or junior high ... and because of them, I always had a great time in and around school.
One of the best vacations I've had in the last several years was meeting Lori and Carolyn in Las Vegas for a three-day weekend. It was so great hangin' out and catching up after ...Expand for more

In Warrensburg, one of the first friends I made through band was Jill -- and I'm thrilled to say that we're still very good friends today -- and our children are friends, too! We had some great times; lucky for us, our parents still don't know the details! I also have a lot of great memories of Lori Jane, Anita, Denise, Janet and Andrea through cheerleading.
College
After having to switch high schools mid-stream, I never would have guessed that I would WILLINGLY change colleges my senior year. My heart still belongs to Oklahoma State University and the Cowboys, but my official alma mater is the University of Missouri-Columbia.
I have wonderful memories of OSU, many of which are closely associated with Zeta Tau Alpha and the Cowboy Marching Band. Thanks to a great football team, we had some great band trips. My first year I played flute/piccolo; second year, I was a member of the flag corp; junior year, I twirled my baton. :) I have especially fond memories of our trip to KState and the Bluebonnet Bowl during my sophomore year and the Gator Bowl my junior year.
