Melissa's Story

Life Lets see-I worked at Arby's for a year, then joined the US Army, got into some trouble, got out, had my daughter, went to school and currently working on that, got married, and now my husband has adopted my daughter! The most important thing of all is:I have come to Christ and am now a Christian wife in God's church the "Church of Christ". God has blessed my life in so many ways-and has so many plans for my family and I. My husband and I are currently leading in our church and our "family" has grown so huge that I NEVER could have imagined I would have so many friends! God has given me so much and for this I am grateful. What else can I give Him in return but my life?! School I was usually the quiet girl in high school-trying not to get into too much trouble. I found that in my Junior year I began to explore things I shouldn't have gotten into. I realize now that if I could go back and do it over, I would have tried harder to do get better grades-so that I could take advantage of the scholarships for nursing. College I have always wanted to get into nursing, but neither my family nor I could afford it, so I have been working full time for the past 5 years while going to school. That rout...Expand for more
e takes a lot longer than I would like!! So I recently decided to quit my job and do medical transcription work at home while going to nursing school full time. In 3 years I may be done and finally add the RN to my name! Workplace My work life hasn't always been the best but I have made the best of it anyhow! : ) First I worked at Arby's for a year, joined the US Army and was in for 1.5 years, then went into the Inactive Ready Reserve, since I didn't finish my full 5 years, then Relocation and Administrative work for Cendant Mobility and Americorp for about 3 years. Now working at doctor's offices. The most significant thing I realized through all of it is that I love people, love to help others with administrative stuff, and try to more than anything make the office "harmonious" where everyone gets along. I became the sort-of "pick up the bad and make it good" person. Not everyone likes this-but I can't please everyone right?? Military I loved the fact that the military taught me discipline and how to prioritize, however, I found that the military wasn't for me. I really appreciate that I was able to serve my country in the Army and the Reserves and appreciate the friendships I have had there.
