Melissa's Story
Life
went to nursing school after high school; met my husband the first day of anatomy lab; married 2 1/2 months later (no, i was not knocked up, just madly in love.) dropped nursing but finished a.s. worked in secretarial jobs for 3 yrs., had two sons that tragically died from an genetic disorder of the immune system. we both went back to school; me a rn and my husband a psychotherapist. had a healthy daughter, hope, moved to hampton and live right on the chesapeake bay. i now stay at home to take care of my daughter (kids sure are a full time job!) have 8 pets and a good life.
School

borhood i grew up in; best time of my childhood. went to brunswick academy grades 8-12. learned a lot; cannot say it was a pleasant high school experience; didn't fit in but i had a few close friends and we had fun.
College
went to srmc nursing school and richard bland college fall of 1985. met my husband first day of school. we married in december and have been together for 18+ years. dropped nursing school but got a.s. from richard bland college. went back to nursing school in 1990 and graduated with honors in 1993.
Workplace
worked as receptionist, secretary, administrative assistant, then went to nursing school and worked as an ob/gyn nurse for 8 years. stopped working to stay home with my daughter, hope.
