Hi everyone (especially class of '86),
It sure doesn't seem like it has been over 20 years since graduation! Wow, how time flies! I am still living close to home. I have been married for 17 years and have one daughter. I am a stay at home mom and really do enjoy spending time with my daughter. I had a stroke on July 31, 2006. I was not at risk for a stroke, so it took the ER about 12 hours to determine that I had a stroke. It seems that I have a hole in my heart, which was always there, but a blood clot passed by it and the hole ...Expand for more
allowed the clot a path to my brain. I lost some use of my left side for a while, but I am doing great now and have full use. I was very blessed! I thank God everyday for my health. I am now on Coumadin (blood thinner) and hopefully that will prevent another stroke. I hope that anyone reading this will realize that a stroke can happen no matter what your age!
