Melody's Story
Life
HELLLLLOOOOO FROM FLORIDA!!!!!
My family and I moved to Germany from Las Vegas in February '90. I was very fortunate to experience Europe and visit some exciting places for a couple of years. It certainly planted the travel bug in me. We then moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL in November '91; I have been calling Fort Walton Beach "home" ever since. If you are not familiar with where we are, we are on the Gulf Coast up in the Panhandle. We have THE most amazing beaches; the sand is WHITE and the Gulf has a beautiful emerald GREEN color to it. We are known as the "Emerald Coast" and also known as a hurricane magnet :-). We plan to retire in this area as long as the house doesn't blow away (LOL), but we have no problem jumping in the car or on a plane to explore somewhere new.
My wonderful husband, Chris, and I were married in May of 2003. He is in the Air Force but has been in the area as long as I have. When I lived in Germany, I delivered pizza to him on a weekly basis, but I did not formally meet him until 6 years later (kind of a funny story). We actually moved in around the corner from each other the very same week back in 1997!
I finally finished college in 1999. I have been in banking ever since. I curr...Expand for more
ently work for a new bank to the area. It is a division of a bank based in Louisiana for many years. My bank is our first one in Florida and it is very exciting watching it start from the "ground up" as far as Florida is concerned. I work in the lending area but also wear many "hats" since we are still relatively small. I would like to eventually go back and work on my masters degree at some point, though.
My husband and I jump at the chance to travel. He travels a lot already since he is in the military; so, sometimes I follow him and crash in on his TDY fun! We have not gone back to Germany yet, but keep threatening to. I have been back to Las Vegas 4 times now and never get tired of going;-).
My mother and two sisters live a couple of hours away and are doing fine. We unfortunately lost my Dad to cancer back in 1994. Some of you may remember him because he was such a character. My husband and I do not have any children yet, but, maybe one day. We do have a wonderful Boston Terrier, Daphne, who rules the house (we just pay the mortgage).
I hope the rest of you are doing well. I have heard from a couple of people from my High School and College days, and it would be wonderful to hear from some more of you.
