Meri's Story
After leaving OHS I headed for college in Idaho, where I graduated with my degree in Social Work. I began my career in Child Welfare with the State of Idaho. I was married after graduation in 1975, to Herb Brennan from Bremerton. We had 2 boys - Mark now 26, who is a strength trainer with the San Diego Padres and Daniel, 23 who has just completed 4 years in the Air Force. My first husband died of cancer 7 years ago. I'm remarried to Jim Waterhouse and we currently live in Olympia again. I work for Children's Administation in DSHS in the Policy Section at the Headquarters office in Olympia. My given name "Merrill" (and most of you from Olympia High School who might remember me, will remember me by that name and not Meri). Merrill got me into way too much trouble - so in college one of my roommates shortened it to Meri and it has stuck ever since.
