Michael's Story
Okay, so I dropped out of South Pas in my senior year, but managed to say out of prison long enough to get my life together. Left the county for a while, then came back and finished high school at PCC, then went on to Cal State L.A. and majored in Psychology. I worked at many different jobs, but the best was driving trucks cross country, which I did for five years. I later went back to PCC in 1982 and then on to Cal Poly where I earned a Masters in Computer Science. I taught college for ten years, a job I loved. I later completed ...Expand for more
a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and did research in education and cognitive neuroscience. I was single for many years (I was never mature enough to settle down for more than a couple of years at a time), but finally married in 1997. I now have two young sons and I've never been happier. I just started teaching in intercity schools. Maybe I can help a few kids avoid wasting as many years of their lives as I did.
