Michael's Story

Life After high school I enrolled into PPCC where I took classes off and on, while working crappy jobs. I was a Food Service Worker (dishwasher) at the Officer's Club and the Enlisted Club at Peterson AFB. The Job sucked but it paid for college so I just put up with it. My first car was an '82 Dodge Aries (P.O.S.), not exactly my first choice but hey, for $600 I couldn't complain... well, maybe just a little. The Aries would always break down every other month and it was always something different. It was so bad that I started putting money aside ahead of time to be prepared for the next break down. I know, I know, it would have made more sense to put the money aside to put towards a new car right? Well, what can I say? I was young, dumb, and full of... never mind. ANYWAYS, it only got worse from there cause later I bought an '85 F150 which also had problems, and a '70 Chevelle that wasn't running. So I was kinda digging myself into a hole here, but I didn't see it that way. I was thinking "I have 3 cars... COOL!" Like I said, young and dumb! Well, after that I had to get another job to continue going to college and fix the 3 not so cool cars. Well, the Chevelle was still cool. You can't beat the classics! The next job I got was working at Future Call which I hated! I REALLY couldn't stand that place and only lasted 2 months. So it was back to washing dishes and taking the city bus off and on. Stick with me people, it's not all depressing. It does get better! Later I started working at ACE Hardware which at first was pretty cool and the money was all right. Have you ever worked somewhere that seemed alright at first, up until you've been there a while and see how dirty (back stabbing) the supervision and management really is? Yeah, I won't give any details... hmmm unless requested, but I stayed working there cause I met some of the greatest people, who to this day are still my best and closes...Expand for more
t friends... including my wife. My wife's name is Kandis and she graduated from Widefield... I know... I'm not a trader or anything, really I'm not! Anyways, before I got married I started hanging out with some people from work who got me to grow up pretty fast. I sold the F150 and later got rid of the Aries and sadly the Chevelle. However, I turned around and bought a brand new (new at the time) 2002 Grandprix GTP fully loaded. I mean On Star, leather, Heads up display, the list goes on. At first, this was my luxury car until I found out all the parts and accessories they make for it. I won't bore you with detail but lets just say I can make the car a lot faster and better looking. Alright people, we're in the final stretch. You bored yet? Well, you made it this far right? At this point I got into a car club "Untouchable", moved into an apartment, got married, had 7 kids... just kidding, don't have any kids yet, and started going to parties about every other weekend. I didn't have time to party while in high school (sniff sniff tear) but I really made up for it in 2003. Nothing bad or illegal... or willing to admit. Anyways, at the start of 2004 I joined the Air Force just to get away from my dead end job... oh, and to serve my country of course. Now I'm living happily with my wife of 3 years now in Okinawa Japan. Hopefully if everything goes the way we want it, we'll be stationed in Italy next. Well everybody, I hope you enjoyed catching up on me and I told you that it would get better, and it still is. Hope you all are doing as good or better than I am and I'm sorry that I won't be at the reunion. I'll still be here on the island cause tickets are really expensive. I already came home once last year for a month and now I'm trying to save up my leave to come back in X-mas of '07. Hope to hear from you guys and don't be afraid to hit me up, even if you were just an acquaintance. Take care!
