Michael's Story

Life After graduating from WHS I went to Jacksonville State. While there I married Phyllis Hicks. I worked my last 2 years (7 total) for Jacks Food system. I finakky got a BS degree in Biolagy. I kept working for Jacks for 16 years. I relocated to Crossville, Al. while working in Boaz. I finally quit them and went to work in Ft. Payne, Al in the hosiery mills. After 12 years, I was laid off permanately because of the CAFTA agreement. I knew this was going to happened so I built two poultry houses and have been working them for 2 ...Expand for more
years.I own 80 acres of land , have 32 cows and about 17,000 chickens. I have two grown boys, Robert (33) and John (26) I have two grandchildren Cathern and Connor. Robert works for Pilgrims Pride in Russelville as Computer Specialist and John works with me and has a degree in drafting. In 2005 it was a bad year for me. My brother, Gerald died in February and on May 5th I found out I had an aggressive form of cancer. I spent 55 days total in the hospital. I had by last test on July 9 , 2007 and no cancer was found. Thank the Lord!!
