Michael's Story
Life
After dropping out of high school, I enlisted in the Marines in '71 to become a hero or dead or both. I found out that being a hero was harder then I thought and getting dead was way too easy. After 4 years of paying for my mistake, I attended E.L.A. college in electronics technology where all the students called me sir. After 3 yrs and part time work I transferred to Cal Poly Pomona's engineering technology program while finding a job in San Gabriel as an electronic Technician in the summer. my dad's house I was renting on Huntington drive to San Gabriel-at least it kept me buff somewhat. I bought a motorcycle and for the next few years commuted to Pomona 4 nights a week while working days. I met my wife Maggie at a New Years party in '75 just after I got out of the suck, I mean Marines, and we courted and got married in '79. She was going to Loma Linda U. to be a Physical Therapist so I followed her into the health profession and got a job in a hospital in '82 as a biomedical equipment technician. I now have two boys ages 30 and 21
