Michael's Story
Life
After four (4!: ScM, MA, PhD, and MSLS) graduate degrees, I have settled in to what I think will be my final career. Starting with practicing as a psychotherapist and running hospitals for major corporate entities, I returned to academia in the late 1980s, taught college for ten years, worked on the HarpWeek digital library project for 5 years, and along the way earned a MSLS from Catholic University in 2005. . . .
The joy of all this is that it has given me the freedom to follow my muse and Cheryl and I have ended up in a fully restored 1916 Sears house 2 blocks from the Atlantic and under the Lighthouse in St. Augustine, FL, where all this higher education mess first began. . . .

ago. I am the reference librarian at the County's newest branch library, where I not only continue to teach, write and learn, I also coordinate the Veterans Oral History Project. The branch is about 500 yards off the oceanfront, and we generally wear Hawaiian shirts to work. Sure beats ties and starched collars. . . .
I'm still driving that same 1967 Buick Skylark I had 'way back in the '70s -- it had a full off-body restoration a few years back, and can be seen flying about the streets of S'naugustine once again. . . .
In short, I'm doing something I love with someone I love in a place I want to be, 2 blocks from the ocean, and 10 blocks from O'Steens. Life couldn't be better. . . .
