Michael's Story
After leaving SLP, I went for a year to Grinnell, two yrs. to Antioch (very interesting work-study college), then got my B.S. in wildlife biology from Colo. State, and a Master's in animal ecology from U. of Co. Did a bunch of temp jobs, also worked in two zoos, including being head elephant keeper. Finally got a permanent job with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, where I worked on five national wildlife refuges, as well as in research (animal damage control), an...Expand for more
d endangered species (NW Forest Plan). Spent 7 yrs with BLM in Oregon, then transferred to the Forest Service in Utah, where I am the wildlife biologist for Uinta-Wasatch-Cache NF. In five months I will finally retire.
Found a wonderful woman, Teresa Woolbright, from Boynton Beach, Florida; we have been married 33 years, and have three grown daughters.
About to hit the road with our fifth wheel and travel all over, then probably settle down in Colorado.
