Michael's Story
Life
Hmm.. As of 2007, my boy has 3 months of driving, 3 traffic tickets, and hates haircuts - apparently all of that must be genetic. My girl is a riot and has a ton of buddies practically living here at the house all the time - apples sure don't fall far from the tree. Just got back from a dirt bike trip to Baja Mexico. I came home with a blown up shoulder (yeah darn it, the same one I hold a fork with, write my name with, and wipe my butt with), a couple of bottles of powerful Mexican painkillers, and a new appreciation for the poverty conditions of third world countries. While there I met a missionary and plan to regularly send stuff to the kids at her orphanage. Let me know if you are discarding kid clothes, old toys, or any stickers (the kids there love stickers...).
My first marriage sadly ended in 2005. I remarried in 2008.
As of 2011, I am convinced that kids need better education on how to choose a spouse. First time around I didn't know what to seek, and chose on factors that are important to a superficial society. Times of stress illuminated our different views of the world and eventually contributed to a disintegration of contentment. This second time around is during times of financial struggles, teenage kid drama, and world economic collapse and a million other factors that make life difficult - but t...Expand for more
he choosing of a spouse who knows my heart and shares my worldviews along with having a central focus on Jesus simply erases the stress of the world and contributes to a peace and satisfaction that creates a real sense of teamwork in the partnership. I hope and pray that my children are able to learn from my failures and mistakes and enjoy mutually prosperous relationships in their adult life.
School
What girls did I want to spend an hour with in the school janitor's closet? Hmm... now THAT is a LONG list! While it would be offensive for me to list the ones I DIDN'T want to play doctor with, that list would be FAR SHORTER. These days I consider sex outside of marriage to be distracting and emotionally harmful. If you're not married, keep your clothes on...
College
Yeah, I remember the college days. My stories are no different than most people's. Total loss of connection with civilized world. The Scotch and Carnation Instant Breakfast diet. Typical college. High School was SO much more memorable.
Workplace
My work history is pretty easy to condense:
Yardwork and chores until age 14.
Work at the family tool and die shop from age 14 thru current, with a brief interruption to work as a busboy at Heritage House Smorgasbord in the fall of '81.
I'm not much of a job hopper.
Military
I've never served but I do like guns.
