Michael E.'s Story
Started Holy Spirit in the 2nd grade(remember Sister Theresa Claire?); lived directly across the street at 82 Dakota. John Cencioso moved next door.... Marty Heavey and I were good buds. Moved to California the last half of 6th grade, came back that summer 'cause of my grandmother's illness(buried her 7 months later). Went to Hutch-Tech with Tommy Latham, did a lot of rifle shooting thru school, worked as a design draftsman during my senior year, started at UB, but wasn't ready for it, so went into the Marine Corps for 3 years. I made a great "grunt"(infantry), and did a lot of traveling....Got out and spent 10 years as a sub-contract mechanical and architectural designer in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Fulton N.Y. plus Cleveland, Ohio. Did some skydiving and trap-shooting, got interested in Corvettes and Shelbys( should have kept one of them !!). Went back to school part/full-time with ...Expand for more
the VA, getting my degree in Voc Ed . I met my BEST FRIEND, Kathleen L. Kennedy, in a bar on St. Patrick's day. She was a Kenmore teacher, who knew what a Shelby was, and could drive a 4-speed better than most guys. We've been very happily married 42 years and have 2 children. Started teaching at Hutch-Tech in 1973, replacing the man who taught me. Got my Masters at Canisius the same day as my father. Both he and mom are gone now, as is my younger sister. Spent 34 1/2 years in Buffalo(which is a story in itself). Worked Customs at the Peace Bridge one summer with Bob Curtain( he's gone); Norm McTigue (also gone) was one of the priests at my father-in-laws funeral. We're retired here in Grand Island, and try to spend time traveling, but have to spend times at Roswell Park....SO HERE'S THE DEAL: anybody interested in a reunion, anybody ?? I'm at 716-774-0060, 716-207-0212. Give a holler, OK ?
