Michael's Story
I joined the Air Force right out of high school. I went to technical school in Denver, CO and Alamogordo, NM. My first assignment was to Kadena Air Base, Japan ('85-'87, 67th Fighter Squadron). In '87 I was assigned to Eglin Air Force Base, FL ('87-'98, 60th Fighter Squadron). I met Andrée in '89; we married August 14, 1992. We went to RAF Lakenheath, England for our next assignment (just NNE of London about 70 mi, '98-'01, 493 Fighter Squadron). It was a great ass...Expand for more
ignment; we liked the Brits very much. Our next assignments were to Langley Air Force Base, VA ('01-'08, 94th Fighter Squadron and HQ Air Combat Command). My current assignment is to Kunsan AB, South Korea. I am here without Andree, spouses are not allowed; I will return to Virginia in February '09. We have no children, as a dual-military couple we decided it would be difficult on kids as we were both gone so often. We do have two goofy dachshunds, Barkley and Boomer.
