Michael's Story
Life
Life is Great!
I spent 19 years in school! After graduating from Linsly Military, I took 6 years off of school and learned quite a lot about life and what I thought I wanted to do. After my parents passed away in 1977, I went back to school in 1980 at Borromeo and received my undergrad degree there in 1984. Thinking I might end up as a professional student, I finally "escaped" from school after stopping just shy of my Masters Degree in Theology from Catholic University in Washington, DC. I just needed more family than what living in a religious order would allow, so I have no regrets. I have never quit reading or learning! That was 1988! I met my wife the first year after I left the Capuchin Franciscan Order and started selling cars. LIFE IS GREAT! The car business needed some "ethical" cleansing and I needed the diversity of this business. I have always had fun and it has paid the bills! :)
Started selling cars using the Internet in 1998 and it has made it even more fun, but enough about the professional deal.
I ran into Elma in the express checkout of Westlawn IGA and she was the "Express Checkout Girl." While she was checking out my groceries, I was checking her out. We got married in July of 1991 we have had some great additions!!
Michael, our oldest was born in 1996 and is quite the little scientist. An all-around great kid!
John, our "Mr. Congeniality" was born in 1997 and is an absolute self-described "talking machine." Although he sometimes can test our patience, he is an absolute joy!
Gabrielle, our princess, was born in 2001. She is all-girl, despite the fact that she is often bossing around her older brothers (just like a little old woman). She loves to raid Mommy's jewelry and clothes and, of course, is Daddy's little girl.

School
So many secrets--some I am still comfortable telling only a small number of people. The people who really know me also know who that biggest crush was and some of the other things which I care not to reveal in a public forum. I look back now and remember the words of Bill Henn saying, "Man, you were a 'wild ass of a man' when you were younger." So true! I am lucky several times that I did not go to jail and worse. Those were different times then and I can truly say that I got away with many things I could not pull off in this day and time. I did learn that I never really got away with them because, every now and then, there is that itch to tell someone the "whole story" even when I cannot. Despite it all, I also managed to find some of the best in people in some of the weirdest places. What a hoot! I guess I am still haunted by the fear that one of my kids will be as sneaky and wild as I was when I was in my teens. Nobody who knew me in gradeschool or who saw my "public face" in high school had any idea. Hell, half the time my parents had no idea until after the fact. My antenna is already out for my kids....!
Workplace
There was a time when I called myself a Jack-of-all-trades and Master of None. Within a few short years, I had done so many things--jobs and other roles--that I finally sought out stability in staying in one field. After seeing that I needed more family than the priesthood and my living family would allow, I chose the auto industry as the career which I would follow. Not building the vehicles--which my father had done and not fixing the vehicles--which we both had done, but I found myself selling these things which like it or not "literally" move the world! What a world this is!
I have met many wonderful people and a few of the worst. It has always impressed me that there are so many good people! I have sold cars and trucks since 1988 and have been in both the sales end and the management end of this business and enjoyed both. From my perspective, this busines has become much more consumer friendly!
