Michael's Story
Life
After high school I spent two years at COD, followed by two years at Columbia College Chicago where I studied film and video editing. About a year into my time at Columbia, however, I realized that I didn't really want to go into film and wanted to teach instead. I decided to finish at Columbia though before moving on, and in the spring of 2004 I recieved my B.A. degree. In August 2004, I got married and I am currently living in Aurora. Last August I returned to school to pursue Teacher's Certification and a B.A. in History. I am almost done with my first year back and am (sadly) looking at another three years or so.

art-time jobs, but I think only the most recent one is worth talking about. Shortly after starting at Columbia I started working a few days a week at the Starbucks in Glen Ellyn. After graduating and exhausting all the job leads I had, I realized that I was probably going to be with Starbucks for a while. I was a shift supervisor in Geneva for some time, before being entering Starbucks' assistant manager program, only to realize that the corporate workplace is not for me. Conflict arose between school and work and I decided that school was my priority, not Starbucks. I took a step back down to shift supervisor and was trasferred to the store in downtown Geneva.
