Michael's Story
Life
After moving from town to town as an AF brat, and making & leaving friends in all states between NY and CA, I finally landed at Georgetown TX, where I graduated HS. After that, I went straight to UT where I majored in band, but got 2 degrees in Math. Other than the friends I made and the fun I had, the band thing never got me anywhere, but my math degree landed me back in school, this time in NC for my EE degree. The EE degree led me back to Texas where I am enjoying my current gig at TI. Since then, I've met Julie, my wonderful wife since 1999. We now are joined by our beautiful girls, Hope (2001) and Hannah (2004), and I'm the luckiest man alive (except I work too much). It all made me who I am, and I wouldn't change a thing, but...
Thanks to my frequent moves growing up, I've always wondered what life would have been like I'd stayed in one place, whether it was Rome, Fountain Valley or Redlands, which is why I've listed the ...Expand for more
people on here that I have. I have fond memories of many people who may not even remember me anymore, but if you read this, I hope you'll drop me a line.
College
My stint at UT was all about Band. It was definitely a highlight of my life, but as I said, maybe I invested a bit too much in it, at the expense of my grades. Hindsight tells me maybe I should have left LHB sooner than I did, switched to EE back then and started making the big $$'s a few years earlier.
Not that the time at NC State itself was bad-- I did finally get the right degree. Guarantee nobody from there will ever see this bio however. The friends I made in college were made at UT. Then lost when I married pure evil. Oh, to be able to re-do all the mistakes that were compiled into that one.
That was character building to the extreme: getting that degree under those circumstances was like climbing Mt Everest with a car chained to my waist. And I made it.
