Michael's Story
Well, lots have happened since Helen Keller days. Graduated from Kimball High School (awkward because we moved to northern Royal Oak right before starting High School). Then went to Albion college for a year and then decided to enlist in the Army before getting drafted. Served a tour of duty in South Vietnam and then came home and married my High School sweetheart and then finished up the last year of Army duty in Oklahoma. It was there (10 months after we married) that the first of our 5 sons was born (our one daughter was the fourth child)....Expand for more
We came back to Michigan and been here ever since. All the kids went to Kimball and we still live in Northern RoyalOak.
While I was serving in Vietnam, I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). Since then I have served as a Bishop twice, a Branch President (in the City of Detroit) and am now serving as the Stake President for 2/3's of Detroit and the lower part of Oakland and Macomb Counties. Almost 4,000 members. Church work and 10, going on 11, grandkids keeps Phyllis and I very busy and very blessed.
