Life Hi Just a note: This is Mike Loreth I have not lived o'side since 1972 but have never stopped thinking about my great times at Oceanside High. I entered the Army in Jan 72 and left California and went to Georgia for a couple years then Ft Bragg NC then Sinop Turkey then Ft Ord CA got out in 80 and went back in in 81 and came out here to Ft Carson Co. In 1983 I went on a NATO assignment to OSLO Norway for 3 yrs returned to Ft Carson and Retired in 1993. Since I retired have been working with hot steel in a Forge, we make Craftsman tools for Sears. Some of the above has changed so this is the edit - After the Forge I worked at Synthes - we make Body implants for broken people - plates screws etc, worked there 2 1/2 yrs and just started at another place as a Senior Machine Operator - CNC, we make screws for Synthes and Aircraft,automotive parts. I will retire in about 3 yrs, plan to move but it will be based on whats happening with the economy as to where I will go have lived in Colorado Since 81 except 3 yrs in Norway, ready to move on, although my kids and grandkids are out here, as are my parents. I have thought of my years at OHS many times over the years, some of you know I got married 4/20/71 and just celebrated my 40th wedding anniversary. All the best to you all, Mike 4-17-16-Little update, Both my parents have passed in the last couple years, Grand Kids are 22, 19, 17, and all live within an hour away. Kathy and I will be married for 45 years on the 20th of april, and as we all get a little older I doubt if I will ever move from here... Planning a bicycle ride in Oside in Aug and plan to attend the class reunion, sorry for the miss on the 20th reunion, family emergency ...Expand for more
