Michael's Story

Moved over to FaceBook come join us in the "If you remember going to St. Margaret's School in St. Clair Shores MI or "If you remember growing up in St. Clair Shores" groups. .After LS I put 3 years in at L.I.T. became disillusioned with that. About same time, 78' got married to a girl from Roseville. These were the days of DeSoppers,BoatWorks, Deckers Landing, ect. Boating at Metro and partying and skiing in Fischer Bay were a blast. Threw some memerable New Year's eve parties in the Maryland house back then. In 84' as some know my brother Gregg died, Bev and I split, her to Mo. and me off to Fla. I was driving through Ky. the night the Tigers won the 84 Series. It was a rainy cold night in those mountains. Landed in the Weeki Wachie/Spring Hill/Brooksville area for the next 6 years. Settled in, changed trades and got ready to do some exploring. Bike Week in Daytona was always a must. Bought an old 73'Sportster, maroon n black, at one time. Did the "hurricane party" more than one time. Elena in 85' was the best. We had a place we called the "hellhole" that we went to after work. It was near Hernando Beach, probably all built up now. No matter, the air tempeture the water was always 72-76 degrees. It had a high dive and an underwater cave, all down a dirt trail back in the woods. A bit of Pa...Expand for more
radise. On holidays you would think it was a state park. Another spot was Rodger's Park, just up the road. Nice beach, volleyball net, was always a place to stop. If you rented a canoe you could paddle to the high dive near "hospital hole", big rope swing included! The dive was 45' or so and the water was at least 135' or so my scuba diving buddy told me. If you went further up the road to Aripeka you would some great blue crab and ice cold Bud. Then in 90' work dried up, so I headed north. Changed back over to carpetry for a few years and built a bunch of homes and condos. In 94' started working cement again, worked for Luigi cement for awhile. In 96' met Carla by June she was pregnant with daughter #1. Now you know you can't have just one. In 01' son #1 arrived and we went shopping. We bought our cottage in September in Shady Shores, I wanted a place where they could run free. You know I wanted to minimize the idiot potential. In 03' came "TomBoy" #1 AKA "the terrorist" came busting in(lol). Now the oldest is beginning Jr High in band and chior plus her sports. The inseperables/constantly bickering(it'sa love hate thing) are still ganging-up on the frogs and bugs.We still are in the area but rarely see any of the school gang. "It's been a Long strange Trip" and Loving it!
