Grandfather John MacNeil and Kate MacInnes immigrated from Isle of Barra Scotland in 1923 raised 11 Childrenin in Calgary, Alberta and then Clnadonald, Alberta,moved to the coast in 1943 (shipyards)for the war effort sending his older sons to the army and his wife and family to tend the farm, bought his home on Adanac Street and Commercial in 1943. And all the boys came home and My Grandmother and Girls followed in 43. Moved to Rupert Street house in 1955 were I joined them in 1961.
Rupert Street was Grand Central Station for the Gaelic speaking visitors from the Hebrides and Scotland and Ireland, New Zealand and the Gaelic speaking Vancouver City Police and Relations back in the Day!".
