tady, NY and then (1970) across the Mohawk River to Scotia. First participated as a political volunteer in presidential race of 1968. Enjoyed most of my thirty years as a research engineer at GE R&D. Held a variety of technical, administrative, and low management positions. Hold 14 US Patents on various things never used by GE. Ran for Scotia-Glenville Board of Education in 1975 and took third seat up for election by 32 votes (Landslide McLaughlin). Served an enjoyable 9 years (5 as president; 2 as vice-president) until GE workload became too heavy. Stayed retired from GE for 6 months and then ran as Democratic candidate for Mayor and beat the young mayor by 55% to 45% despite a 2:1 registration disadvantage held by the Republicans. Reelected in 2002. Having quite a time serving full-time in a nominal part-time position.
