Michael's Story

Life I was THE WEATHERMAN on campus in Commerce from 1973 through 1976. I taught as lab instructor in the Earth Science department, did Severe Weather Seminars in conjunction with area police and fire departments one week before killer tornados struck the Ohio Valley in April 1974, did a weekly weather report for the Commerce Journal and the campus newspaper, was written up as a weatherman in the East Texas magazine, did the recording on the student center call in at night and worked as weathercaster/broadcaster for KETR-FM from 1974 through 1976. hool in 1964 and after doing time in Vietnam as a medic went to college under the GI BILL. After leaving ETSU, I did a stint drving Greyhound bus, then went to work in Norman, Oklahoma as instrumention research and storm chaser and later joined the National Weather Service all in 1978. I have worked across the Nation for the National Weather Service then retired in 1996. I currently live in Helena Montana and am a relationship counselor for college singles out of my Baptist church. Bad news is I lost a son in 1993 to an accidental rifle discharge. He was 15. Write me
