Michael's Story
After CFHS, I went to Iowa Sate and picked up a couple of degrees, then went to work for a couple of years. After that, it was off to grad school at Washington University in St. Louis for a couple more degrees. As soon as I was out of school I got married, and went to work in Chicago. A job change moved us back to St. Louis, and we’ve been working here ever since. We live in a big ol' house in a historic neighborhood, so my spare time is spent working on the house. Remember Tom Hanks in the "Money Pit?"
We have two boys (30and 26) who are getting started in their respective careers in law and engineering. The dog has moved on to the big yard in the sky. Two cats have gone to kitty heaven, the numerous hermit crabs have all gone to the big beach in the sky, and the gold fish died of the boredom of living in the same ten gallons of water week after week.
My mother and sister are still in CF, and now my in-laws live in CF, so I manage to get most of the news from "back home."

, and I'm reasonable certain you'll figure it out.)
I'm an architect, and I've spent most of my career designing sports/recreation facilities and classroom/lab buildings for colleges and universities. They've been in states reaching from Texas to Minnesota, and from California to Pennsyvania, Michigan to Florida, and many points in between. I've also been involved in office buildings, parking ramps, strip malls (sorry about that), libraries, and a few odds and ends for the Department of Defense. The last few years, I’ve been working in Saudi Arabia, helping to build “industrial cities.” That means schools, offices, housing, mosques, health clinics, a convention center, an airport, a navy base, an army base (both to relocate the occupants in order to make room for more industries), and lots of other infrastructure-type stuff to make this place function.
Jeri is an Iowa Hawkeye, but I married her anyway. Right now, she's holding down the fort in St. Louis. My job has afforded us the opportunity to travel, and with COVID apparently ramping down, we’ll be able to get back to exploring new places.
