Michael's Story
After getting out of Hudson, I obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Central Florida. I later completed a master's degree at the Florida Institute of Technology.
I've spent most of my time since '82 working on the Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs, although I've gotten to do a little bit of work in support of some unmanned space missions as well. Proximity to the flight hardware is probably the most rewarding aspect of working on this stuff, and there's lots of crawling around/in/over it when doing testing and preflight servicing.

sentially singlehanded caregiving for my father, who became very sick before passing away a year ago. That kind of experience just reinforced the respect I have for anyone else who finds themselves in a similar situation - and there are plenty of them out there. They generally keep a pretty low profile from being so busy.
Since then, I've been considering the things I'd still like to see and do. I'd like to return to glider flying, and maybe spend a bit more time on the water as well. With friends to visit and things to see and do, I don't think I'm entirely done with the west side of the state either. So maybe I'll be seeing some of you soon.
